iOS Sleep Tracker
SleepCore tracks nights and naps with clear scores and Benny — the fur seal on Sydney Harbour who's been sleeping on rocks since 2014. No algorithms, no guilt, no lectures.
"Now THAT'S how you do it. Finally. Someone who gets it."

About SleepCore
Most sleep apps overstate what they know. SleepCore doesn't have a microphone. It doesn't read your heart rate. It doesn't claim to measure your sleep stages from sensor data.
What it does: takes the hours you log, compares them to your goal, tracks your consistency, and gives you three honest scores. Readiness, Quality, Consistency. Nothing invented.
The session signal estimates — Stillness, Recovery Index, Breath Rhythm — are modelled from your timing and quality rating. Labelled as estimates throughout. The Sources screen explains every calculation.
See all featuresFeatures
Log any night session. Set a bedtime goal, tap Sleep, tap Rise & Shine in the morning. SleepCore calculates your depth score and builds your history.
CoreLive nap timer with elapsed time and a phase indicator. Benny will tell you if you've hit the 20–30 minute sweet spot or gone too deep. Naps roll into your Sleep Log trends.
CoreBenny's reaction comes first. Then your scores, estimated sleep stages, session signals, and a 30-second mood and tag check-in. Log what affected your night.
DailyReadiness, Quality, Consistency. Calculated from your logged hours and consistency against your goal — not sensors. Sources screen explains every formula.
Analytics7, 30, and 90-day averages. Night-by-night bar charts. Nap totals. Month-on-month comparison. See whether this month was actually better than the last.
AnalyticsSet a latest wake time and a phase window — 20, 30, or 45 minutes. SleepCore shows when to surface for lighter sleep based on 90-minute sleep cycles. Display mode in v1.
SmartScoring
SleepCore doesn't claim to be a medical device. Scores blend your logged hours, bedtime consistency, and self-rated quality — not microphones, motion sensors, or heart rate readers.
The methodology is displayed on the in-app Sources screen, accessible from the Morning Report. Sleep duration and wellness guidance draws on published work from the CDC, NIH, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Meet Benny
Benny is an Australian fur seal who's been sleeping on the rocks of Sydney Harbour since 2014. He represents the app's laid-back approach: honest charts when you want them, a streak to keep, creatures to unlock, and zero clinical pretension.
The Pod
Keep your streak and unlock real Australian sea creatures — each with a genuine fun fact. Eight to find, from a Common Little Penguin to the Legendary Golden Benny.
All creatures based on real Australian marine species, each with a verified fun fact.
Process
Choose a sleep goal, set your bedtime target, and optionally enable a single reminder notification. Takes two minutes once.
Tap Sleep or Nap. The timer runs. The Smart Wake window shows when lighter sleep typically arrives. Rise & Shine when you're ready.
Benny reacts. Then your three scores, estimated stage breakdown, session signals, mood rating, and note tags. Thirty seconds.
Your Sleep Log builds over weeks. 7-day, 30-day, 90-day views. Month-on-month. The picture that matters is the long one.
"Log sleep, watch trends — Benny keeps the tone human, not clinical."

Questions
Do I need an account?
No. SleepCore runs entirely in guest mode — all data stays on your device. Create an account to enable cloud backup via Supabase. Guest data is permanently deleted if you uninstall the app.
Does it use the microphone or any sensors?
No. SleepCore doesn't request microphone, heart rate, motion, camera, location, or Apple HealthKit access. Session signal estimates are modelled from your logged timing and quality tag — not hardware. This is disclosed throughout the app and on the Sources screen.
How are the scores calculated?
Readiness blends your logged duration against your goal, your streak consistency, and quality tag. Quality is your Deep / Light / Restless self-rating weighted by duration. Consistency measures bedtime adherence to your goal. The full methodology is on the Sources screen inside the app.
What's the Smart Wake window?
You set a latest wake time and a window (20, 30, or 45 min). SleepCore displays when lighter sleep typically occurs based on 90-minute sleep cycles. In v1.0 it's display-only — no alarm fires. A future version may add an alarm; this will be clearly noted.
What are the sleep note tags?
After waking you can tag what affected your sleep: Coffee late, Alcohol, Stress, Exercise, Late screen, Noise, Travel, Sick, Room hot/cold. They appear in your Sleep Log so you can spot patterns. Nothing is sent anywhere — local only.
Who is Benny?
An Australian fur seal living on the rocks of Sydney Harbour. He's been sleeping there since 2014. He will be honest about your 5-hour Tuesday. He will be delighted by your 8-hour deep sleep. He is personality, not a sleep lab.

How SleepCore calculates your numbers
From the app's Sources screen
"Readiness, quality, and consistency scores blend the hours you log, how they compare to your goal bedtime, and streak-based routine — not medical devices, diagnoses, or polysomnography."
"Session signal bars and stage-style charts are illustrative estimates from duration and the quality tag you pick when you wake. They are for personal reflection only."
Blends logged duration versus your goal, streak consistency, and quality tag. Higher = your session and routine align with published adult sleep guidelines (7–9 hours, consistent schedule) from the CDC, NIH, and AASM.
Your Deep / Light / Restless self-rating weighted by session duration. Reflects how restorative you assessed the night to be.
How closely recent bedtimes cluster around your stated goal. Higher consistency is associated with better circadian alignment in sleep health literature.
| Signal | What it represents | How computed |
|---|---|---|
| Stillness | Movement proxy | Modelled from duration + quality tag — not an accelerometer |
| Recovery Index | Cardiovascular proxy | From sleep timing; not a heart rate reading |
| Breath Rhythm | Breathing proxy | Modelled — no microphone used |
| Rest Environment | Noise proxy | From wake mood and notes; no sensor data |
Display-only in v1.0. Shows a wake window based on your latest wake time and chosen duration (20, 30, or 45 min), calculated from typical 90-minute sleep cycle length. Does not monitor actual sleep stage in real time and does not fire an alarm.
In-app note: "Sleep Cycle–style; display only for now." This page will be updated before any alarm feature ships.
